Hi there, I re-took up fishing back in September 2014 after a very long time out of the sport.I was introduced back to carp fishing and have loved it but remember fishing Lincombe for barbel when I was a kid.It was when I looked through the forums that I heard about the river carp where the dead arm meets the main flow.I'd been a couple of times fishing the dead arm at the very end of the point using a feeder rod and a 8mm white boilie against the far bank and took a lot of bream up to 3 and a half pound.I tried again before the season ended but had a carp rod out into the crease where the dead arm meets the main flow.I also fished the dead arm with a float rod. After taking a bream on the float and then a very nice bream out in the main flow,I took a 9lb 8oz common carp on a 12mm crab pellet. It was my first ever river carp and what a fight.Beware of the half sunken tree at the very tip if the island as at the end of the day I had a carp on the float on a single piece of corn right under my feet.I lost it in the very same tree.I'm no expert but these fish are something else! About Lincombe anyway-£5 to fish all day and Martin the lock keeper is a really nice bloke.British Waterways have cut a lot of trees back over the last couple of weeks over the dead armed side due to near accidents with boats and personally I think they have ruined it.There are some very nice bream in the dead arm and into the crease.I think the biggest bream to date was over 10lb and carp to 27lb.Not to mention the barbel and chub.Roll on June!

The Live4 mission

We want this to be the most comprehensive directory of UK fishing locations. We are trying to get every UK Fishery and fishing spot on here, as well as all the best freshwater and sea fishing locations – but we will need help. We currently have nearly 6,000 UK freshwater angling spots listed.

If you know of a fishery or free angling location that is not listed here, please drop us a line with the contact page.

If you are a fishery owner and you would like us to add more information to your listing, just do the same and we will get back to you to sort things out.

Welcome to our new Site

Welcome to our new Live4fishing site. We’ve spent a long-time re-building it to better serve our users and we’ve got some really exciting developments coming along soon too.

We’re still passionate about fishing and our goal has been to make it easier than ever to find the best places to fish in the UK and get the latest and most useful information about them.

We have made considerable changes to the look and feel of the website, but our key goal here is to make it easier to see locations and fishery details across all devices. We have many other developments in the pipeline, including an App, as well as social media integration so you can use live4fishing inside Facebook. So we want to encourage you to comment, review and add photos so we can all get the best information we can.

Now we have phase one up and running, we will also be dedicated to answering questions on fisheries, and making sure peoples comments and updates are smooth and quick to make sure we have all the latest information on competitions, lakes and contact details for fisheries.

If you are a fishery owner and you’re not listed on here, your details are wrong, or if you would just like to add information about future events, then please do shout. Also, if you’ve got any more ideas of what we can do then please do help.
